Green patches of WAAAAGH!

Some updates from the weekend.
I played a couple of matches on my new suitcase-pitch, one was a kind of intro-game for a curious guy that lasted only half time, with my orcs facing (my) his Dark Elves.
The other was a proper match against the Chaos Dwarf team of a friend, who's also working on his own suitcase-pitch, that's more awesome-looking than mine!

 Oh, and I also managed to complete the river part of the pitch.
I'll be pouring some resin soon, but at the moment it will look like it's under a drought period.

Also I got a few ideas about further details I might add to the pitch. Much fun!

I then proceeded with some updates on the Orc team:

I completed the Black Orc Blockers;

 I put some green stuff patches on the players;

 I made a little skirt for the thrower;

a plate for the number and a patch on the butt;

and, the last but not the least, I clad in metal the Troll. Shoulderpads and protections for joints.

My Blood Bowl Custom Pitch: "Waaagh! Springs Stadium" - part 3

Once sand and glue were properly dried, I proceeded with painting a brown base over all the surface

 Sever halds were needed to get an uniform colour all over the field, due to the different basing materials (i.e.: polystirene, sand and sand+toilet paper).

Next steps: highligts with whiter tones of brown.

Then I tried out how some synthetic grass would look on the field, with a chessboard pattern,
but without glueing it yet.

 I started painting the white stripes of the pitch and the dugouts, while waiting for the polystirene blocks to glue under the... weight of culture!

And also trying out how a central mark would wOrk out better.

 What's a football pitch without ads?
After some internet browsing, I found many good ones!
Yeah! The field itself is done!!

Then I proceeded with the grass squares. I started with groups of five per time...

...proceeding with packs of 12-15 squares per time.

 That last dirty dozen of squares!

And finally! Green squares over.

Time to make the small water pond.
I used some DAS paste, shaping and placing it in order to look like a river's bed.
I also added some real rocks to better achieve the result.

Still byased on the central symbol: straight or slightly crooked?

And this is the result so far:

 My unpainted teams call for painting asap! :P

This is how the pitch looks closed and deployed.

Things I need to complete:
-central Waaagh! symbol;
-turn and reroll counters. Their place is at the side of the dugouts;
-little water pond. It's stll drying and I'll paint it greyish with water effect.

My Blood Bowl Custom Pitch: "Waaagh! Springs Stadium" - part 2

I carefully made sure that Polystirene sheets were cut in order to suit the hringes' placement.

I originally prepared the field itself, with a central strip that can be removed before closing the suitcase.

 Blocks resulted 3cm wide, not the "official" 27mm.
I just used a pencil to carve the polystirene.

I completed the blocks for the entire gaming area.

 And there we go!

 To the main pitch, I added a dugout each side and a turn/reroll counter.

And since it's a desert-like scenario, I cut some rocky pillars out of polystirene.

At the other side of the rocky pillars, I made a couple of hills with what will be a pond/ river/ lake inbetween.

Always using a pencil, I carved the "scatter D8" and the dugouts.

 Once all the gaming zones were completed, I poured vinyl glue all over the squares, sprinkling thin sand over the blocks.

In order to obtain a more "desert-like" look, I used toilet paper with watered-down vinylic glue, before covering the whole area with sand.

I then shook off the sand from the blocks, once dried.

And in the next update:
painting time!
