Rising elves rising!

Today I primed up Blood Bowl Dark Elves team, so they're almost on the pipe for painting!

I had some hobby time left, so I tooled a little with the Rising Sun Army I had planned some time ago (you can see the mage of the army here), an High Elf Army of an Oriental island, that I could play as a Wood Elf army aswell.

Those poor elves got delayed because of my bits' order taking a huge time arriving.
So it's time to build the army core and, being them high/wood elves, I started out with a sample archer.

I made an attempt on the look of the Ashigaru-like hat with plasticard.
It's a new for me, so the next one will most likely be better! :P

Painting schedule of the upcoming blog entries (random order):

- Blood Bowl Dark Elves
- High Elves

Ulthuan shall never fall!

After a short break with the blog entries, here I am again!

Today's miniature is a gift I painted for one of my dearest friends as birthday present.

It's the High Elf Prince on Griffon, from the Island of Blood starter box of WHFB.

A truly awesome sculpt, I really enjoyed painting it but the best part was seeing my friend's happy face upon unboxing the gift! ;)

And as per usual with the last miniatures, I tried something new: this time the water effect and the tidal waves on the base. They came rather good, after all.

So, without further ado, here are the pics!

WAAAaaaa...gh.

There's no mercy on the battlefield.
A poor orc cannot even WAAAGH! any longer, that his lungs are pierced with a two-handed axe.
I hope that high elf will enjoy the silence now.

An orc was harmed during the making of this unit filler.
Help us, donate for his family and sporelings.

Love on the battlefield

Love and death, actually.
Such a deep topic in art compositions of the past, being it poetry, painting, writing.
My much humbler view is the one I'm presenting today:

It will work great for a unit filler in a bunch of frenzied witch elves, maybe taking the place of the champion aswell.

I had a leftover Morathi model, for the pegasus was so trendy with the past armybook.
Also I got her on ebay for a bargain price, hence the black strips and bits.
She's also missing the left nipple. I have no words for describng such a shameful decision to remove it from previous owner. May Slaanesh get his soul! :P
Missing a bit of GS all around to fill some gaps and create a cleaved neck for the poor high elf.
And re-adding the nipple!

Hope you like it!

 It's autumn!

Summer has come and passed,
the innocent can never last.
Wake me up when September ends.

It's halfway October and none came and wake me up!

So, instead of getting pissed, the other day I went for a walk and ended up gathering some rocks and tree branches on the way back home.

I have been planning an Eldar Exodite army since ages (pics will come soon, it's part of the reason of this blog's existance) and because of that I have some Wood Elf leftovers taking the dust.

But why start the actual Exodite Project when I can take a huge detour and start an High-Wood-Oriental-Elf themed army, postponing again the start of a cool work?

I have an old High Elven Mage, cheaply bought from a friend 6 or 7 years ago, sitting in the Wardrobe of Doom (TM) waiting for a better future.

Having another of these pretty-pretty-oh-so-feminine models painted with the traditional High Elven colours (on the right: I'll repaint her face sooner or later, I promise!) there was no reason to paint a copycat of the previous one.

So, after a bleaching bath, I made her shine in her full pewtery glory once again.

I then decided to take her elemental base away -for a future project-
and make her stand on a tree trunk for a more dynamic stance.

Next step consisted in adding some leaves on the floor.
I got inspired and put a twisted wire in order to achieve a kind of magical wind enveloping the caster.
Other small leaves were glued on the wire, trying to place the big ones close to the base and the small ones on the top of the wire.

There we go!

Painted pics hopefully coming soon!
