Grey 'uns go faster.

Well, not really.
But their assembling process was quicker than ever!
Despite having a ton of miniatures waiting for proper paint, I decided to build an Orc Blood Bowl Team.
Work is still far from completion, but they're playable (atleast they can face my BB Dark Elves ) with a couple of proxy.

These guys are the blitzers. The Allorc Brother Blitzers, precisely.

Their numbers will be, left to right, 3, 3.2, 4 and 4.2. Orcs have issues with numbers, ya' know.

The big guy on the left is a Black Orc. His brothers are yet unassembled, but soon to come.

Next we have number 9, the lineorc, ready for an opponent's charge.

Tall guy is the Troll, n.11. He will have joints protection on all his limbs and I'm thinking about sculpting him an helmet out of green stuff.

The naked one on the right is the Thrower. He'll probably get Leader sooner or later, so he's portrayed like if he's shouting some order or team tactic. Number three, it seems. But orcs have issues with numbers, so I wouldn't bet on that.

The small one, the Goblin, has already a name: Looby. I think it says all.

Oh yes, I also built a couple of Runners for the Nagarroth Nightmares. I'm really happy with the result!

Plus I'm working on two battlefields... but this will be another post!

Blood Bowl!

 I'll be having a Blood Bowl tournament next month, so I assembled a little team of Dark Elves for the event!
Their pieces are coming from spare parts of Dark Elves and Dark Eldar.

Happy with the result, I'll get these guys and gals painted very soon!

Number 01 to 06 from left to right, these are the linemen -or lineelves-. 

 Number 07 to 11, the blitzers and a witch elf.

 I'm planning to add a couple of throwers, maybe another witch and an assassin sometime in the future.

Also thinking about the painting scheme:
-Purple armor, white shoulder;
-Green armour, red shoulder;
-Red armour, white shoulder.

What bugs me more?

 Using the same technique for ooze of the previous post, I did a couple of bases for the bigger bugs of the swarm.

Enters the Swarm

After a day of rest, the slime on the bases got solid enough.
So i proceeded with glueing the rightful owners of those bases: the Tyranid Warriors and their Alpha Leader!

No tyranids were harmed in the making of these pictures. Few humans were slain, instead.

Over the weekend I've been experimenting a bit.

I went for a walk with a friend and, aswell as some fantastic pics like the one above, I ended up with some more gifts from mother nature. :D




So I decided to try and use some larch budlings.

I carefully (hehe.. yeah) removed them from their twig and glued them on a base, with not a proper plan in my mind beyond pure experimentation.




Next step was the addition of scenic sand but, while doing so, I realized what I was about to do: tyranid sporelings.
I was also planning to try some glues I bought a while ago, in order to achieve a muddy effect. So I had the epiphany: tyranid sporeling secreting ooze!

I approximately painted what was about to become the pit of the ooze puddle with a green mixture, then proceeded with the use of the bicomponent glue.

So I prepared a green/brownish mixture on a tinfoil, adding the binding glue to the mixture once the colour was of my liking.
Then I poured this "solution" on the greenish puddles of the bases, trying to cover the most of them up to the borders.
Finally I added the hardener part of the glue and mixed thoroughly, until the solution became slimy and sticky.

Before of that I added some silica gel spheres, in order to achieve a gas-bubble-about-to-explode effect.

Et-voilà! I'm rather pleased with the result.

Next: Trygon and Carnifex bases. ;)





While waiting for the basecoat to dry, I tried if such glue could be used for a non-slimy effect.

I think it does, with some more experimentations and further trials might work.

Needless to say, my mind is planning thousands of different uses for this effect. More will come!

Oh! But the most important thing: wooden mage has gotten a few colors. Still WIP, tho. ;)

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step

There we go.
I finally decided to start my own blog.

I have not a clear idea about what I'll be writing, publishing or even how often I'll keep it updated, but in the mist of the future I can see a good presence of miniature painting and conversions, especially those belonging to Warhammer Fantasy Battles and Warhammer 40.000 game systems.
