My Blood Bowl Custom Pitch: "Waaagh! Springs Stadium" - part 2

I carefully made sure that Polystirene sheets were cut in order to suit the hringes' placement.

I originally prepared the field itself, with a central strip that can be removed before closing the suitcase.

Blocks resulted 3cm wide, not the "official" 27mm.
I just used a pencil to carve the polystirene.

I completed the blocks for the entire gaming area.

 And there we go!

To the main pitch, I added a dugout each side and a turn/reroll counter.

And since it's a desert-like scenario, I cut some rocky pillars out of polystirene.

At the other side of the rocky pillars, I made a couple of hills with what will be a pond/ river/ lake inbetween.

Always using a pencil, I carved the "scatter D8" and the dugouts.

Once all the gaming zones were completed, I poured vinyl glue all over the squares, sprinkling thin sand over the blocks.

In order to obtain a more "desert-like" look, I used toilet paper with watered-down vinylic glue, before covering the whole area with sand.

I then shook off the sand from the blocks, once dried.

And in the next update:
painting time!

My Blood Bowl Custom Pitch: "Waaagh! Springs Stadium" - part 1

Following my newest miniature addiction - Blood Bowl -, I embarked on a crazy project: building my own, portable pitch.

After a couple of weeks of lax planning, I came up with the idea of a semi-wasteland scenario for the Orc team I'm assembling.
A Dark Elf stadium would have been cool also, with spikes, sharp bits and gothic structures.
But it would have taken too much time, a lot of skill and effort and, mostly, would have been too much emo for my tastes! :P

I wanted to make it portable, so it could be stored or transported with ease.

So after a couple of sketches I raided my local DIY shop and bought a few wood panels (2*60x60x0.8mm; 6*60x5x0.8mm; 1*60x10x0.8mm), screws, iron angles, hinges, polystirene sheets and some acrylic paint.

I then started assembling the panels (and to be honest with no idea or blueprint, just the rough sketch I drew on a block notes).

Hooray! It somehow worked!

I then proceeded with the side bars, to make the panels look more like a suitcase.

Hey, you can make a mouse track, with the same materials! :D
After the sides of the box were done, I started cutting the polystirene sheets to suit my needs.

More to follow. ;)

Grey 'uns go faster 2.

Some minor updates on my Orc team.

I completed the 4 lineorcs.

And added some facial protection to the blitzers' helmets.

Then I obtained an helmet for the Troll.

Final shots of the helmet worn!

Grey 'uns go faster.

Well, not really.
But their assembling process was quicker than ever!
Despite having a ton of miniatures waiting for proper paint, I decided to build an Orc Blood Bowl Team.
Work is still far from completion, but they're playable (atleast they can face my BB Dark Elves ) with a couple of proxy.

These guys are the blitzers. The Allorc Brother Blitzers, precisely.
Their numbers will be, left to right, 3, 3.2, 4 and 4.2. Orcs have issues with numbers, ya' know.

The big guy on the left is a Black Orc. His brothers are yet unassembled, but soon to come.
Next we have number 9, the lineorc, ready for an opponent's charge.
Tall guy is the Troll, n.11. He will have joints protection on all his limbs and I'm thinking about sculpting him an helmet out of green stuff.
The naked one on the right is the Thrower. He'll probably get Leader sooner or later, so he's portrayed like if he's shouting some order or team tactic. Number three, it seems. But orcs have issues with numbers, so I wouldn't bet on that.
The small one, the Goblin, has already a name: Looby. I think it says all.

Oh yes, I also built a couple of Runners for the Nagarroth Nightmares. I'm really happy with the result!

Plus I'm working on two battlefields... but this will be another post!

Blood drops

Just a minor update, with the last progresses on the BB team.

I tried a reddish colour, but it ended up too red:

So I went for a darker armor.
It looks better, but stil I'm not sold on it.

Helmet needs some more whiter blue highlight, and I'm on doubt about the white shoulderpad.

And that's the final version, pretty much.
Shoulder pad looks better close to the finished helmet.

Anyway, that's it for now!
